The award-winning Bongo star took to social media in 2017 to showcase his luxurious statehouse which is located at the leafy suburbs of Mbezi Beach, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

During its building, the Bongo star gave progressive time-to-time updates from the time the house started being built to its completion.

In an Instagram post, Diamond posted a picture of a year ago during construction vs three weeks ago after its furnishing. He captioned it ‘My 10th house.’

The videos of the house tour are evidence of how expensive his house is. It has a Tsh70 million pure gold plated toilet and custom-made designer gypsum ceiling that is the view of him from his bed. It has a Jacuzzi, gym, basketball court, dance hall, bar counter, studio, swimming pool and a darts playing area.

Diamond did a heart house tour after artist Bebe Cool claimed Diamond’s small house could not compare to his two houses. In his compound was a fleet of eight commendable rides including a 2021 Rolls Royce Cullinan, SUVs, and two Land Cruiser V8s, among others.

The superstar is set to also buy a private jet to make his international travels easy. The house has several rooms including 6 Bedrooms, a Classic Kitchen Boardroom. The house is estimated to have cost him Ksh 40 Million.

A while back, Diamond shared several videos showing off his house in South Africa. He bought a house in Moreleta Park in Pretoria. The singer announced the acquisition of the house during his baby mama Zari Hassan’s birthday while they were still together.

The luxurious villa has a swimming pool, spacious dining room and living room. It features a Jacuzzi, balcony and a garage that parks two cars. Before the divorce with Zari, they used to stay in the mansion.

Zari lives in this house and has made it very clear that she is not moving out. The exact cost of Diamond Platnumz mansion in South Africa is unknown, but it is evidently expensive.

The news of Diamond Platnumz house in Kenya emerged online in 2017 after purchasing a mansion in Nairobi. There were speculations that he wanted to relocate to Kenya. He also went ahead and bought Tanasha Dona, his ex, another house in Kenya.

Diamond was also speculated to have bought another house in Rwanda. The rumours about Diamond Platnumz house in Rwanda started in 2018. This was after he went on social media asking his fans to help him to find a nice house in the country.

Diamond Platnumz is one of the richest musicians in Africa. He has said before how he gets paid in billions by Apple Music and YouTube. But still his own father is living a meagre lifestyle, going by pictures which are making internet rounds.

Diamond’s dad Mzee Abdul Naseeb has given many a reason to talk after photos of him boarding a public service vehicle while carrying a huge sack went viral, igniting mixed reactions.

According to media reports, Diamond’s father has been hawking in the streets to make ends meet despite his son being a millionaire.

“I would like to urge our fans to stream music and download from iTunes because it builds us the artistes. This is the same business model the likes of Drake use to buy planes,” he added.

Diamond Platnumz’s narrative sits amongst the list of the classic rags to riches stories of the music industry. He had quite a humble upbringing. As is the case in many African homes, education is always seen as the catalyst to better life outcomes. With that in mind, his family members couldn’t understand why he concentrated on making music. They wanted him to focus on furthering his studies instead and get the normal 9-5 job.

But, if there’s anything we have learned about Diamond is that he goes for what he desires. And much to the disappointment of his family, Diamond focused more on making inroads in his career. He took part in talent shows and competitions and post his secondary education, he performed for different local and international artists. His mother came under harsh criticism from family members for supporting her son’s music career.

Back in 2007, life was tough. Diamond struggled to raise funds to pay for a single studio session. Consequently, he resorted to doing casual jobs. He sold second-hand garments, worked as a filling attendant and even did freelance photography to make some money that would help him get his music career off the ground.

It seems like Diamond was more than ready to do anything for his music. At one time, he was involved in illegal gambling just to make extra cash to afford him some studio time. The star is also said to have stolen and sold his mother’s golden ring secretly. The proceeds from that went to record his first single.

In 2009, Diamond Platnumz met Msafiri Peter aka Papaa Misifa who agreed to provide financial support in nurturing his talent. He went on to record “ Kamwambie” which was an ode to his girlfriend who left him when he had nothing. The track was an instant success, giving Diamond Platnumz the much-needed morale he needed to continue with his music career as well as opening the right doors for him.

In 2010, Diamond Platnumz released his first debut album titled, “Kamwambie”. It included many singles including “Kamwambie”, “Nakupa Moyo Wangu”, “I Hate You”, and “Si Uko Tayari”. Two years later, Diamond Platnumz released his sophomore album, “Lala Salama” which included the singles “Chanda Chema”, “Nimpende Nani”, “Gongo La Mboto”, and “Lala Salama”. It is also during this period that he openly endorsed Tanzania’s dominant ruling party, the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) and its presidential candidate, Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete.
