Marang Molosiwa evolved from her days as a child star to a respected actor and content creator. She’s worked in multiple high-profiled roles and in 2020, Marang Molosiwa earned international recognition when she joined the cast of the award-winning television show MTV Shuga Alone Together Lockdown series. Marang Molosiwa was born on 21 August 1991 in Botswana.  She is currently 32 years old (as of 2023). She went to the University of Pretoria where she graduated with a degree in drama and later went to the Univerity of Witwatersrand and received another degree in drama and film.

Marang Molosiwa’s career

Marang Molosiwa got into television when she was only 12 years old. She presented a children’s television program called “Mantlwaneng”. She also hosted “My African Dream Talent Search” and landed a role in a radio drama titled “Makgabaneng”.

In 2009, Marang Molosiwa played a leading role in One Love Stories film which was part of Soul City Institute for Soul Justice Production.

The media personality has also been involved in theatre. She’s acted in two plays, “Gogola” and “Born Around Here” as well as directed “Ketswakae” and worked as a facilitator.

Other roles that Marang Molosiwa has held include adjudicator at the 2015 President’s Day Drama competition, emceed in several events like Diacore Gaborone Marathon, ideas expo 2015 Botswana, Botswana Youth Expo, FNB Botswana Youth Awards and UNICEF Campaign Launch.

Having established herself within the industry, Marang Molosiwa finally went international in 2020 when she was cast on MTV Shuga Alone Together – Life in Lockdown series. She plays the role of Bokang, a dancer and model from Botswana.

As to how she landed the role, Marang revealed that she sent some of her work samples to MTV after she found out they were looking for a Motswana actress. She became the first-ever Motswana to appear on the award-winning television show aimed at sharing information about health with young Africans.

Marang Molosiwa became Mrs Selolwane on 9 April 2021 when she tied the knot with former footballer Diphetogo “Dipsy” Selolwane. The couple is blessed with two children, one from Dipsy’s previous relationship and their daughter Nami who was born on 29 September 2019.

Age gap

The 14-year age difference between Marang Molosiwa and her husband Diphetogo “Dipsy” Selolwane has attracted criticism from social media users. One of the bullies tweeted that Dipsy was already an adult when Marang presented her first television show, Mantlwaneng. The child star did not let this slide as she hit back with a “No. He (Dipsy) was in Chicago”.

Another troll emerged a few days after their wedding in 2021 and said that in a few years’ time, her husband would look like the firstborn of the family. Marang’s response was that people age thus the social media user cannot twist this fact.

Marang Molosiwa’s net worth is estimated to be $80,000 which she’s made from her career as an actress, television presenter, emcee, and brand ambassador amongst others.

2015: During International Youth Day, Marang was recognised by the United Nations Population Fund (UNPF) for her engagement in community work.
