Samantha Mogwe’s fusion of R&B and Neo-Soul captured the hearts of the Botswana people. Her album and song “Transition” elevated her profile and made the music industry sit up and listen. Samantha Mogwe was born on 24 May 1988 in Gaborone, Botswana. She is currently 35 years old. Her father is a Motswana and her mother is Zambian. Samantha Mogwe was raised in a musical family and naturally, picked it up. Alongside that, she did poetry and writing.

Samantha Mogwe might have been exposed to music from a tender age but her first stage performance at the African Dream singing competition only came after her friends convinced her to sign up. She was the first runners-up and since then, Samantha Mogwe has never left the stage.
Samantha went into professional music at the age of 21. Her music is a fusion of RnB and NeoSoul which Samantha says was influenced by the music she listened to growing up.
In 2015, she released her debut album, “Transition”, which she said was influenced by the constant change she experienced at the time she was working on the album. Some of the songs in the album include “The Chase”, “Transition” featuring Zeus, “Dreaming”, and “Loud” which are part of the 13 tracks in the album. In the same year, the songstress won the BOMU Award for the Best Packaged Album.
Some of the countries Samantha Mogwe has performed in include South Africa, Namibia, Ethiopia, and Sweden. When it comes to artists she’s collaborated with, her repertoire includes Zahara, Kenny Latimore, Hugh Masekela, Mikasa, The Soil and many more.
Away from music, Samantha Mogwe spent three years at Gabz FM where she presented a mid-morning and an evening show and was also involved in voice coaching.

Samantha Mogwe is married. She keeps the identity of her family private thus she’s never posted her husband on social media. She said it’s because he didn’t choose to have a public life and thus doesn’t want to go against his wishes.
