Zari Hassan
With 10.2 million followers on Instagram, the boss lady is the most followed Ugandan personality on Instagram.
Zari is an international public figure and enjoys popularity in her native Uganda, the rest of East Africa where she is loved, and South Africa where she currently resides.
The ever-stylish mother of five uses this platform to share fabulous photos of herself and her family, she also uses it to promote her businesses and is one of the most sought-after influencers, representing, Softcare and Kleesoft, among other big brands.
In 2021, she cut down the number of people she was following from 110 to just 12.
Eddy Kenzo
Eddy Kenzo is one of the most prominent musicians in Uganda. Not only is he a great artist, but he also has a heart of gold.
His music is celebrated all over the world, and his charity work is also appreciated by many people, for these and many other reasons, Eddy Kenzo is the most followed musician in Uganda with 1.2 million followers.
He mainly uses his Instagram to promote his music and connect with his fans.
Spice Diana
The award-winning hitmaker of ‘Buteke’ is known and loved for her talent and style.
Since starting her career in 2014, Spice grabbed the public’s eye and has never gone back. She has made her name in East Africa through her collaborations with big stars such as Tanzania’s Zuchu.
Spice Diana also enjoys 1.2 million Instagram followers making her the most followed Ugandan female artist on Instagram.
The publicity has opened opportunities for her as a brand ambassador, and she currently represents brands such as Chipper, Lato milk, and Itel.
Sheebah Karungi
Sheebah Karungi is one of those stars that are loved by nearly everyone. The musician/dancer/actor has been in the limelight since 2006, when she was still a member of the Obsessions.
The queen, as her fans know her, has 1.1 million followers on Instagram who call themselves ‘Sheebaholics.’
In 2020, Sheebah also celebrated getting 1million followers on Facebook.
Lydia Jazmine
With 1 million followers, Lydia Jazmine is the fifth most-followed Ugandan on Instagram.
The musician is known for her great hits like ‘You know’ and her iconic sense of style. In 2017, she was named among the ‘50 African artists to watch’ by MTV BASE Africa.
Her social media presence has earned Lydia Jazmine several brand ambassador jobs, like Radiant cosmetics.
Winnie Nwagi
Like Lydia Jazmine, Winnie Nwagi also has 1 million followers on Instagram.
The Swangz Avenue artist has not entertained us over the years with her great music, but she has also represented us in “CocaCola Rated Next” in 2014 where was a second runner’s up.
Jose Chameleone
Jose Chameleone is the legend of Uganda’s music, and he is loved and celebrated in East Africa and beyond.
He has had a successful music career spanning over 20 years with several awards to show for it, and with 940k followers, he is one of the most influential people in Uganda.
Rema Namakula
This beautiful songbird has 897k followers on Instagram and is also one of the most followed celebrities in Uganda.
Rema is the recipient of many awards, including Hipipo’s ‘Best Female Artist of The Year,’ she also represented Uganda in the Coke studio competition.
Barbie Kyangulanyi
Barbie Kayngulanyi is Bobi Wine’s wife and mother of four children. She is also an author and a philanthropist.
Barbie, who has a remarkable sense of style, is obviously dearly loved by many, given that 885k Instagram users follow her.
Sheila Gashumba
Coming at number 10 on our list is former TV girl, Sheila Gashumba. Sheila has created a name for herself as a socialite and a social media influencer with 849k followers.
She is one of the very few non-musicians in Uganda who enjoy a high number of followers on Instagram.
Other celebrities who have a high number of Instagram followers include Cindy Sanyu, Anne Kansiime, Fik Fameica, Bobi Wine, and Vinka.
