Linet was born in the year 1998 to Leonard Langat and Betty Lagat in Kapsimbiri Village, Bomet East Constituency in Bomet County.She is first born in a very humble family of four girls. She is currently 25 years old.
The Name Toto means a young one and we often used it when referring to a baby. According to Linet Chepkorir the name Toto was given during his birth because she was undersize or rather too small. But her mother credits the origin of the name Toto to a Maasai lady who was living with them. and preferred to name her to Toto rather than using her real name.

Linet Chepkorir Toto started her primary education in Kapsimbiri Primary School. She later joined Siwot Secondary School before enrolling in Tharaka University to pursue Procurement which she graduated in 2021 with a Bachelors degree.

Linet Toto came to national limelight when trounced nine other candidates in the UDA primaries for the Bomet Women Representative seat. This was a unique phenomenon given that she was the youngest amongst the contestants. Moreover, her competitors were well oiled and were already established politicians in the region.
In Bomet, just like any other strong UDA stronghold, candidates with the UDA flag were guaranteed of winning the August election. Linet Toto won it to become the youngest ever woman representative in Kenya.
