Serbian tennis player Ana Ivanović was born on November 6, 1987 in Belgrade, in what was then Yugoslavia. She was enrolled in a tennis school by her parents when she was five and moved to Switzerland at the age of 14 for more intensive training. In 2005 she won her first major tournament in Canberra. In 2008, she was at the top of the world rankings for twelve weeks.

On July 12, 2016, she said yes to footballer Bastian Schweinsteiger in Venice and also took his name. They now live together in Chicago, USA. In March 2018 their first son was born.

When Ana Ivanović saw her later idol Monica Seles on TV at the age of five, she also wanted to become a famous tennis player. In this she was supported by her parents, who first enrolled her in a tennis school and enabled her to move to Switzerland at the age of 14 due to better training conditions. Her greatest success at junior level was reaching the final on the venerable Wimbledon lawn.
