Just recently, Gusii Stadium was filled to the brim as the club played a match against a coastal competitor. Among the spectators were Governor Simba Arati and former PM Rt. Hon, Raila Amolo Odinga.

The current Shabana FC coach took over from Andrew Kanuli, who assumed the position from Gilbert Selebwa in 2019.

Dogo Khan founded Shabana FC in 1980 and he is the owner of the club to date. Shabana FC has its humble history when it started in 1980, more than forty years ago. The club was recognised as a worthy competitor in 1985 when it finished 10th among 18 clubs and rising to the 8th position a year later.

Henry Motego

The star is a Kenyan international footballer, formerly a striker in Harambee Stars.

Before joining Shabana, Motego was a player in other teams, including Kenya Breweries and Al-Oruba,

The 56-year-old retired footballer started his footballing career in 1992. Henry Motego comes from Gucha District, Kenya.

Henry Nyandoro

He is the second most respected player from the early days of Shabana. He played for AFC Leopards between 1988 and 1990.

Nyandoro later transferred to Shabana, where he played between 1990 and 1996. The midfielder was part of the 1992 African Cup of Nations.

Unfortunately, the Kisii High school alumni succumbed in 1998 at about 28 years of age, having represented Kenya in 102 international games.

Mike Okoth Origi

The retired Kenyan footballer is a former Shabana striker, formerly a goalkeeper. He later played in Belgium and represented Kenyan in several international competitions.

His son, Divock Origi, succeed the 53-year-old. Divock is a notorious Belgian footballer in the Belgium National team and Liverpool.
