Kareh B Bio: Background Info, Education, Career, Boyfriend

Kareh B’s real name is Mary Wangare Gioche. She is a renowed actress and musician in Kenya.

Born in Nairobi as the last born in a family with 4 children, she attended a South B school and later on joining Kitengela Secondary School. However, she completed her high school studies in Joseph Kairu Secondary School.

At her undergraduate studies, Kareh B pursued a degree in Public Relations at the University of Nairobi.

As with most prominent and successful people in different careers, Kareh B never thought she would ever be an entertainer. All she wanted was to be a lawyer.

Her first recorded song was in 2017 but she had been performing since 2009. Moreover, she had been a part of a band that focused on entertaining people on different locations around Kenya. Their preferred music was Rhumba and Afro Fusion.

Most Nairobi-born people do not speak their native languages as well as their village counterparts. As a result she was ridiculed by native Kikuyu speakers, prompting her to join Kikuyu theatres in an attempt to learn the language. She also listened to Kikuyu radio stations and her prowess in Kikuyu language improved rapidly.

Currently, Kareh B sings very well in Kikuyu. Among her songs are Turio Twega, where she collaborates with Jose Gatutura. Her other hit songs are Haha Nigutee 2, Ndimunogu, Woe Gakenge, Ndukahituke, Ninguikitie C.R.B.

Kareh B has also collaborated with Sir Elvis, a legendary country singer who spotted her perfomm and loveed her voice. Her ability to sing country music was demonstrated in a live interview with Jeff Koinange.

Kareh B looks up to Eric Wainaina, Sauti Sol, and Nameless as her role models locally. Internationally, she is wowed by the late Whitney Houston great vocals.

Although Kareh B is known for her songs, she came into the limelight when she was acting at a popular TV program, Tahidi High.

In March 2021, she lost her sister to Covid-19 complications. Kareh B’s sister, Winnie Mukami, was a former NTV and KBC journalist.

Her dating life is not well known, but there have been some speculations that her boyfriend was Gatutura, who has denied the assertations claiming that they have a purely music-related ralation.
