Most romantic male celebrities

Most of these Kenyan male celebrities like to portray themselves as gangsters. They prefer holding up this “bad boy” image to the public and that’s okay. What some of you may not know is the fact that some of these “bad boys” out there are actually pretty romantic to their better halves.

No matter how secretive they may try to be about it, their ladies end up exposing them to the romantic dudes that they are.

Here are five of those romantic fellas.

1. Bahati

This gospel singer turned secular artist doesn’t hide his love for his wife Diana Marua. He spoils her and documents it for his fans to witness. He recently bought her the biggest gift yet, a brand new white Mercedes Benz and he even shared the video through his social media platforms. This is the baby girl treatment right here.

2. Frankie JustGymIt

This is one strong man. He has always shown romantic love to his girlfriend Corazon Kwamboka. Where is the romance, you ask. Well, Frankie has always stood by Corazon even when everyone openly talked about her being loose and still a socialite.

He has never let any of that affect them and he still publicly shows her love. If that isn’t romantic, I don’t know what is.

3. Eric Omondi

This is a real Luo man. At one time, when he was still in a relationship, Eric Omondi rented out a billboard on the road to put up a welcoming message for his girlfriend as she was returning to the country from a business trip. Wow!

4. Brown Mauzo

Prezzo

Jackson Makini has never been shy to express his love when in a relationship. The biggest romantic gesture that this extravagant artist has ever done is tattooing his girlfriend’s name on his body. This right here takes balls. He then posted the picture of the tattoo on his social media platform, proudly declaring his love for the girlfriend.

These artists may have that gangster look, but deep down it seems they can actually be very sweet. The acts mentioned are just a few of many and there are many more artists that are also very romantic to their significant others. Let’s try to follow suit people.

Kenya’s most educated musicians

They might be chucking bangers and club hits, but that most certainly does not mean they don’t have other talents and abilities. Quite the opposite, actually! It’s no secret that Kenya’s music industry is composed of some of the best brains the country has to offer.

From medical doctors, engineers, and architects among other highly regarded professionals, these celebrities had the brains, but music called them, and they obliged.

And if you know anything about the music industry in Kenya and how artists are compensated, you’d understand that for these guys, the music comes straight from the heart!

Here are some of Kenya’s highly educated musicians.

Frasha

The P-Unit member fancies himself as one of the top brains in the music industry, commonly referring to himself as Dakitare. Other than producing music, the Dakitare hitmaker is also good at matters of human health, he is a medical doctor.

Since then, he has revealed that though he finds a lot of fulfillment in being a musician,n he is still a doctor, and that was highlighted when COVID hit and he went back to practice, opening a clinic next to Aga Khan called the Doctor’s Park. According to him, the pandemic proved that education still is and always will be the best thing to fall back on.

Wahu

Singer Wahu Kagwi is one of the most learned musicians in Kenya. The beautiful songstress studied Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Nairobi where she majored in Mathematics.

The Sweet Love hitmaker also holds a Master’s Degree in Communication. She said she got the Master’s degree because her line of work demands communications.

Nameless

Just like his wife Wahu, Nameless is an academic genius. He started his formal education at Nairobi Primary School and he furthered his studies at Strathmore Secondary School.

After High School, Nameless enrolled at the University of Nairobi to study towards his Architecture Degree.

Even though he majored in music after university, the Te Amor hitmaker still practices Architecture. He is said to be the architect behind the KSh.4 billion Karen Hub mall, Nairobi.

Maureen Kunga

Maureen Kunga is another brainy singer who is even qualified to vie for the Chief Justice job, (or could be qualified in a few years) courtesy of her education as a law student.

The graduate of Nairobi University was admitted as an advocate to the High Court in 2014. On her education, Maureen revealed that she was a devout law student and loved going to school, even though she never had a favorite law teacher or anything of that sort.

Fun Fact, Maureen Graduated law school at the same time Elani Released their first studio album!

Bryan Chweya

Singer Bryan Chweya is a second member of Elani who is a lawyer by profession. The University of Nairobi graduate was admitted to the bar as an advocate in 2014.

Despite the hardships that come with getting yourself admission into the bar, Brian Chweya alongside his two bandmates beat all odds to bring the country some soulful music that lived in the hearts of many, at the time.

Meanwhile, Rema Namakula was also a backup singer for Gagamel Crew. Her parents were aware of all her dealings with both parties – Bebe Cool and Gagamel Crew. They paid for the first song she recorded, “Take A Look At Me”.

Rema Namakula then went professional in 2009. Her stint with Gagamel Crew and Bebe Cool would last another four years before they parted ways. Their separation was occasioned by an interview Rema did without the knowledge of Bebe Cool in which she shared her plans of going solo.

This was 2013 and it was the start of Rema Namakula’s solo career. She went on to release the song “Oli wange” written by renowned songwriter Nince Henry. She then went on to release other singles like “Taala”, “Sweetie”, “Give Me The Paper”.

Her most popular songs on YouTube are “Akatonotono” with over 4.5 million views, “Lowoza Kunze”, “New Ugandan Music”, “Akaliro”, and “Yo Sweet” all with over 2 million views.

In 2016, Rema Namakula was chosen to represent Uganda in the fourth season of Coke Studio Africa. Eddy Kenzo, Weasel and Lydia Jazmine were the other Ugandan artists selected to participate in the show.

Relationships, Family

Rema Namakula got married in a lavish traditional wedding attended by family, friends and industry colleagues in Nabbingo, Butaka in Wakiso District in 2019. Rema Namakula’s husband is Dr Hamza Sebunya.

Two years after their marriage, Rema Namakula and Hamza Sebunya welcomed a baby girl, Aaliyah Sebunya who was born on 7 November 2021.

One of the doctors who helped in the birth of Rema Namakula’s new baby was her husband Dr Hamza. She is Rema’s second child after she got her first with fellow musician and ex-boyfriend Eddie Kenzo.

Reports suggest that Rema and Sebunya first met in 2014 at an event the songstress performed at. He grabbed the chance to have a picture with her and then escalated his advances which have now culminated in a marriage.

Rema and Kenzo

Before her wedding to Hamza, Rema Namakula dated Eddie Kenzo for five years. The pair went separate ways in 2019 in a public break-up. In an interview with a local station, Eddie Kenzo revealed that he could not keep up with Rema Namakula’s public lifestyle. He said that her desire to publicise their relationship meant he couldn’t continue being with her.

In the same interview, Kenzo also stated that Rema distanced herself from their relationship long before they broke up. She ignored his calls, lost trust in him and even went on to build a separate house without his knowledge. Kenzo said he got wind of these developments through social media.

Even then, rumours of infidelity circulated widely. Plus, Eddie Kenzo’s inability to propose to Rema during their relationship was reported to be one of the reasons their relationship fell apart.

It was not all doom and gloom for Rema and Kenzo. The pair have good memories of their time together. You can see that in Rema and Kenzo photos posted online. Also, the two have a daughter named Aamal Mussuza.

Kenzo apologizes to Rema

After a nasty split-up, Eddie Kenzo ate the humble pie and apologised to his ex-lover Rema Namakula. In a post on social media, Kenzo asked for forgiveness from all those whom he had wronged, knowingly or unknowingly.

After Rema Namakula’s planned wedding to her husband Dr Hamza Sebunya was declared illegal, Eddie Kenzo made fun of Rema. In a post on his Instagram page, he shared a letter written by a lawyer meant to prevent the doctor from marrying Rema and described their plans as “comic”.

Further, Rema expressed regret of having worked with Bebe Cool.

Response to Kenzo

Rema Namakula finally broke her silence over her nasty break-up with Eddie Kenzo. She said that Kenzo was still very much in love with her which is why his songs alluded to his regrets over not valuing Rema when they were still together.

Eddy Kenzo age, tribe, dating, family, net worth, biography

Eddy Kenzo’s story begins on a low point and crescendos to a glorious tale. The musician is now a ray of hope to millions of people. Kenzo was many things before his big break in the world of music. For 13 years, he lived on the streets, sold water, was a stadium ball boy, did welding, sold milk, played soccer, sold drugs and even did construction work to make ends meet. Despite that, today he is one of the most sought-after musicians in the Afrobeat genre. He is also a man with a big heart, giving hope to the poor street children of Uganda through his acts of philanthropy.”

In several interviews, Eddy Kenzo has always used the phrase ‘zero to hero’ to describe his story. Eddy Kenzo was born to a poor Ugandan gateman and a refugee mother from Rwanda who died when Kenzo was barely five years old. This forced him to go to the streets and fend for himself. It took him more than 10 years to meet with his father and brother again.

Kenzo’s father couldn’t take care of him and his brother. He worked as a gateman and lived in the tiny gateman house. In one of the interviews with Mama Maria Prean, Eddy Kenzo reveals heartbreaking interactions with his pauper father.

“My father was a gateman at World Vision. When we met him he told us “you are not allowed near this gate. My employer said my workstation is too small and cannot accommodate extra persons, so just stay from a distance. I will meet you there.”

“He told us he can only give us a small posho, we eat from a distance and after eating, we need to go because he doesn’t want his boss to know he has kids. So all the time we visited him that is what we did,” said Eddy Kenzo.

Eddy Kenzo would later move to Kampala, Uganda’s capital by hiding under the bus seats of a soccer academy team where he was a ball boy. With the hope of being a footballer, Eddy Kenzo joined Sports Club Villa academy hoping his star will shine brighter in that field. He would mostly sleep under the stadium seats every night. To supplement his needs, Kenzo Eddy would even peddle drugs.

However, he did not make it into football but in music. Mike Wine, the brother to Bobbi Wine, opened doors for him when they met in 2008.
