From 1995 to 2000 William attended the elite college Eton. After graduating from school, he volunteered for a few months at an aid project in Chile and on a farm in England. In 2003 he switched to geography, which he successfully completed in June 2005. In 2006 he was trained as a lieutenant at the Sandhurst Military Academy. From January to April 2008 he completed a four-month jet pilot training course with the Royal Air Force. He then gained experience on the Navy frigate HMS Iron Duke in the Caribbean. William then completed a 20-month training course to become a rescue helicopter pilot. Until the end of 2013 he was on duty with the Search and Rescue unit in North Wales. He ended his military career due to the birth of his son. From now on he devotes himself primarily to charitable work.
