Khumo “Miss Geekay” Kgwaadira is a seasoned media personality with an impressive track record working in television and radio. She is also the founder of a non-profit organisation Who Am I and is also an entrepreneur.

Miss GeeKays whose real name is Khumo Kgwaadira was born on 18 June 1990 in Sefhare Botswana to a teacher and a nurse. She is the last child of three children. Not much is known about her siblings. Miss Geekays described herself as a bubbly, talkative child who loved television.

Sadly, in 2021, Miss Geekays lost her mother after a long battle with cancer.

Battle with Acne

Miss GeeKay has candidly spoken about her battle with acne. When she was 20 years old, she contracted a skin condition and at one time, changed her radio slot as she had to seek treatment. The condition escalated to the point she turned down work because she lost her voice due to treatment.

A scholarship by the Botswana government saw Miss GeeKays fly to Malaysia for her university studies where she pursued marketing. While there, she tapped into her love for media and put in extra effort to learn media. In 2012, Miss Geekays went back to Botswana and pursued a career in media.

She began as a television presenter of “Property For You”, a show about houses. The following year, her mother challenged her to apply for a job at RB2. Despite not having a degree in media, she landed a television job and hosted shows like “Our Heros Our Pride” where she interviewed influential people like the former president Ketumile Masire.

She later transitioned to radio and hosted Midday Radio, a countdown show, Top40 on Saturday and anchored news bulletins.

As her media career peaked, Miss GeeKays started her non-profit organisation called Who Am I with the aim of helping people discover and fulfil their potential. Through the organisation, she has travelled to several countries as she gives talks and meets young people.

What has Miss GeeKays not done or at least thought of doing? In 2016, she launched her clothing line Faddic (Fashion Addict) clothing line which she used to promote women empowerment.

She also serves as the director of Suave Point, an advertising and marketing agency. With her big following on social media, Miss GeeKays promotes different brands like Legacy Flagship Store, Shell amongst others.

Miss GeeKays’s Relationships

It’s often said that a man and a woman can’t just be friends and Miss GeeKays and her bestie Resego Motlhokathari have seemingly put this phrase to the test. Both parties maintain that they are friends but their closeness has raised eyebrows as they even fly across the world and vacation together.

In December 2020, the pair stormed Namibia during the Windhoek Fashion Week and in May, wore coordinated outfits at the Mahika Mahikeng Jazz Festivals. Miss GeeKays’s fans cannot wait to know whether the two are an item or whether this is just a well-nurtured friendship.

If there is anyone who understands the pressure of being in the limelight it’s Khumo “Miss GeeKays” Kgwaadira. She’s candidly shared how she almost committed suicide due to the pressures of being a young star. Fortunately, she received help and challenges people, especially celebrities to open up.

With all the success she’s earned and the profile she’s built, you wouldn’t be surprised that someone would try and impersonate Miss Geekays. This happened in 2021 and the sassy television presenter reacted immediately. Through her Instagram page, Khumo warned her followers not to follow the fake profile and encouraged them to report it.
