Daughter Princess Charlotte of Cambridge followed two years later. Her third child, Prince Louis, was born in spring 2018.

After the death of Queen Elizabeth II on September 8, 2022, King Charles III. gave her the title Princess of Wales. Thus, Kate bears the same title as her late mother-in-law, Diana.

Kate Middleton and her family

Catherine “Kate” Elizabeth Middleton grew up together with her sister Philippa and her brother James William in the small English town of Bucklebury (about 2,000 inhabitants) in the county of Berkshire in the noble atmosphere of London. Her parents, Carole Elizabeth and Michael Francis, a British Airways stewardess and pilot, started a party supplies company (“Party Pieces”) in 1987 that made the Middleton family millionaires.

Right from the university to the royal palace

After graduating from an elite private school, Kate Middleton decided to study art history at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. There she met and fell in love with Prince William (born 1982). In their second year of study, the two lived in a student flat share, and that’s where sparks are supposed to have been. No wonder William couldn’t resist the beautiful brunette with the green eyes – even though Kate was actually still in a relationship with her fellow student Rupert Finch. After many months of rumors, the two lovers finally made their love public in late 2003. After graduating in 2006, Catherine spent a year working in accessories for British fashion label Jigsaw. After this experience, Kate Middleton is in charge of her parents’ company. Since her marriage to William, she has devoted herself primarily to her royal duties. The marriage gave her the title of Duchess of Cambridge.

Kate Middleton’s children

During her pregnancy with George, Kate suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum, severe morning sickness. She had to be hospitalized for several days. Kate’s condition was similar with her second and third pregnancies. However, all three children were born healthy.

Kate and William’s youngest child is Louis. This is fifth in line to the throne. Due to his age, he is not presented to the public too often. Similar to his siblings, however, Louis will also take part in more and more public appearances in the future.

Thanks to the modernization of the succession system, all of Kate and William’s children now have a chance to one day ascend the throne. This now allows girls to have the opportunity to become queens. Previously, only the first-born boys were allowed to ascend to the king’s throne. Older sisters were not considered at that time.
