If you want to enter the Mara from the coast of Kenya or from the port city of Mombasa, it is only advisable to travel by plane. From Mombasa the flight time is about 2 hours. When visiting the Masai Mara, most holidaymakers opt for a fly-in safari, i.e. arriving by plane, or for a round trip that takes in several national parks.
