The RiskMap, created annually by a British management consultancy, Control Risks, offers travelers a good indication of where in the world there is a high level of security and where it could become dangerous.
While the RiskMap from the London management consultancy Control Risks is actually aimed at decision-makers from the economy who operate internationally, it can also be helpful when planning a trip. Control Risks calculates in detail for every country in the world how the local security situation is.
The data used comes from the crime statistics of the countries concerned. In addition to minor offences, serious crimes and cases of fraud of all kinds are included in the creation of the annual RiskMap. In a kind of grading system, the tested countries are then given the safety standards: irrelevant, low, medium, high and extreme.
