Hassan Ali Joho is the CS nominee for Mining, Blue economy and Maritime affairs. He has disclosed that he is worth Sh2.3 billion.
Joho said his net worth comprises properties and shareholding in different businesses, including family-owned ones.
Appearing before the Committee on Appointments, Hassan Ali Joho said his wealth is “largely built by developed properties including my homes in Mombasa, Vipingo, Nairobi and Malindi. Shareholding in property holdings, shareholding in family businesses, valuables in watches and cash at bank.”
Some businesses owned by Hassan Joho include Prima Pest and Bins Ltd, the first garbage collection company in Mombasa, M-tech Kenya, and East Africa Terminals.
Before his nomination as CS, Joho served as Kisauni MP for five years and Mombasa Governor for 10 years.
