Man United probably wants to get rid of Ronaldo after interview

After Cristiano Ronaldo’s sensational TV interview, his club Manchester United has announced consequences. The English Premier League club left it open for the time being exactly what those are.

“Manchester United took appropriate action this morning in response to Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent media interview,” the club’s website said in an unusually terse statement. “We will not comment further until this process is complete.”

According to information from the “PA” news agency, Man United has called in its lawyers to prematurely terminate the employment relationship with Ronaldo and has already contacted Portuguese representatives.

Accordingly, the sensitive interview, which was not authorized by Man United, could constitute a breach of contract that would make termination possible. Since Ronaldo is said to want to leave the club anyway, a compromise solution is likely. Ronaldo’s contract with the Red Devils expires next summer.

“Treason” accusation against Cristiano Ronaldo

In an interview with British star presenter Piers Morgan, superstar Ronaldo, who is currently in action at the World Cup in Qatar, accused the Man United club officials and coach Erik ten Hag of “treason” and criticized the Glazer family, who own the club.

The Glazers are not interested in the club, the Portuguese complained in the interview, which was broadcast on TalkTV on two evenings. He has no respect for coach Ten Hag because he doesn’t respect him either.

After the first excerpts from the interview were published, Man United announced that they wanted to analyze all the facts before reacting to them. It is definitely not to be expected that the 37-year-old Ronaldo, who tried in vain to change in the summer, still has a future at Old Trafford.

“I don’t know what will happen after the World Cup. But as I said before, the fans will always be in my heart. And I hope that they will stand by me whether I come back or not.” Ronaldo said: “It’s hard for me to say that I will not return to Manchester United. Let’s see what will happen.”
