DSTv is the most popular broadcast service provider in Kenya and Africa at large. DStv prices are higher in Africa than other service providers because they have a large market share , and they own football streaming rights for major leagues around the world.
Kenyans reacted to the news by demanding that DStv should introduce “pay per view” payment methods where subscribers will only pay for the channels they want to watch. Most Kenyans only pay and watch at most three channels on the DStv packages.
Along with DStv, Multichoice also owns GOtv, a digital TV provider competing with cheaper digital TV providers, and Showmax, an on-demand streaming service competing with Netflix.
