List of KBC’s New Anchors, Profiles & Bio

KBC was for a long time the only television network in Kenya. It has had ups and downs over the years, especially due to the increase in the number of television networks in Kenya.

Although KBC has lost viewership over the years, its management is determined to ensure that the media house remains competitive within the country.

In 2021, KBC rebranded itself by changing its logo and the design of its studio. All in a bid to increase viewership. During the same period, KBC hired some of Kenya’s veteran news anchors that had not been in the limelight for years.

Below are some of the news anchors in KBC.

Catherine Kasavuli

A role model to many anchors in the country, Kasavuli was the first female news anchor in Kenya.

The legendary anchor has worked for some of the biggest media houses in Kenya. They include; Kenya Television Network (KTN), Citizen TV and KBC where she began her career.

Her voice and demeanor commanded the attention of viewers for about three decades.

She is a receipient of the revered Order of the Grand Warrior of Kenya.

Tom Mboya

Tom Mboya was once a powerhouse in journalism.

Tom Mboya is a renowned media personality who has won awards with CNN as the Best Journalist in Africa in 2012 and the Global Leaders Award in 2013. Tom Mboya has worked with Citizen TV before leaving to Mediamax’s K24. Unfortunately, he was dismissed from the station only to make a comeback to KBC in 2021.

Fred Indimuli

Fred Indimuli has worked for Radio Africa Group before hosting the morning show for Citizen TV alongside Joey Muthengi and Willis Raburu.

He also left Citizen TV, owned by Royal Media Services, to join K24. He currently hosts Easy Friday on KBC.

Other news anchors working for KBC include the following:

  • John Kioria,
  • Juma Ballot,
  • Harith Salim, and
  • Nancy Onyancha.

 

Legends will be hosted by Pauline Seghu and Badi Muhsin while Harith Salim and Nancy Onyancha will Darubini. Tom Mboya and Purity Museo host the new prime edition.
