The best and the worst time to trade forex

As a forex trader aiming for substantial profits, it’s crucial to shoulder the responsibility of timing your trades effectively. Your success hinges on knowing the optimal moments to enter and exit the market, making this distinction pivotal between profit and loss.

Understanding the workings of the forex market, where currency trading unfolds, is fundamental. Traders engage by buying one currency while simultaneously selling another. Typically facilitated through brokerage firms offering comprehensive trading tools.

While the forex market operates ceaselessly, not all hours are equally conducive to trading success. Market volatility ebbs and flows throughout the day due to distinct trading sessions.

To maximize profitability, familiarity with these sessions and their timings is paramount:

New York Session:

The second-largest forex platform globally, the New York Exchange, spans from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This timeframe is closely monitored by international investors for potential opportunities.

London Session:

London stands as a pivotal global trading hub, accounting for approximately 43% of all global trades. Its session kicks off at 3 a.m. and extends until noon.

Sydney Session:

Commencing at 5 p.m. and concluding at 2 a.m., the Australian session marks the beginning of the trading day. Most activity occurs on Sunday afternoon as traders regroup post-weekend hiatus.

Tokyo Session:

Pioneering the Asian foreign exchange market, the Japanese session thrives with significant trading activity from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Mastering these time frames enables traders to align their strategies with peak market conditions, seizing opportunities when volatility and liquidity align favorably. Such strategic maneuvering around these sessions can significantly impact trade outcomes, leveraging market movements for optimal gains.

Below we explore the best and the worst times to trade in forex.

When is the best time to trade forex?

The best time to trade forex depends on various factors such as your trading strategy, currency pairs you’re interested in, and market conditions. However, there are certain times when the market tends to be more active and liquid, providing better opportunities:

Best time to trade forex: overlap of major market sessions:

The most active times occur during the overlap of major trading sessions. This includes the intersection of the London and New York sessions, which typically happens from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM EST. During this time, there’s increased volatility and liquidity, making it ideal for trading.

Best time to trade forex: When economic data is released

Significant economic reports and data releases can cause volatility in the market. Traders often look for opportunities around these times, such as Non-Farm Payrolls (NFP), GDP releases, and central bank meetings.

Best time to trade forex: Trade during high-liquidity periods

Trading during low-liquidity times, such as the late afternoon or early evening in the forex market, might lead to wider spreads and unpredictable price movements. It’s generally recommended to avoid trading during these periods, especially for beginners.

Best time to trade forex: Consider currency-specific factors

Different currency pairs have their own peak trading times. For instance, the EUR/USD pair often experiences higher liquidity during the London session when both the European and American markets are open.

Best time to trade forex: Weekend and holiday periods

The forex market is typically less active during weekends and major holidays. It’s usually wise to avoid trading during these times as liquidity drops significantly, leading to potential higher spreads and less predictable movements.

Ultimately, the best time to trade varies for different traders based on their strategies, risk tolerance, and preferred currency pairs. Some traders might prefer high volatility and actively trade during peak hours, while others may opt for more stable market conditions and trade at other times.

It’s essential to understand your trading style, test different times, and consider the specific characteristics of the currency pairs you’re interested in to determine the most suitable trading hours for yourself.

So when is the worst time to trade forex?

Avoid trading forex during certain situations or times that typically exhibit lower liquidity and higher volatility:

Worst time to trade forex: over the weekends

The forex market is generally closed on weekends (from Friday evening to Sunday evening, based on GMT time). Trading during this period is not possible for most retail traders as the market is closed, leading to extremely low liquidity and high spreads.

Worst time to trade forex: During major holidays

Trading during major holidays, such as Christmas, New Year’s Day, and certain national holidays, can result in thin liquidity and unpredictable price movements. Many institutional traders and banks are closed during these times, leading to erratic market behavior.

Worst time to trade forex: during low-liquidity periods

Avoid trading during periods of low liquidity, which typically occur during the late afternoon or early evening in the forex market. During these times, liquidity drops as traders from major financial centers leave for the day or are preparing to start their trading day in another region.

Worst time to trade forex: around major news releases

Trading just before or after significant economic announcements or news releases, such as interest rate decisions, employment reports, or geopolitical events, can be highly volatile and unpredictable. It’s often wise to wait until the market stabilizes after such announcements before initiating trades.

Worst time to trade forex: overnight rollover period

At the end of each trading day, known as the rollover period, there might be increased spreads and potentially higher costs due to the roll of positions to the next trading day. Avoiding trading during this time can save on these extra costs.

Remember, while these times might generally be less favorable for trading due to lower liquidity and increased volatility, some traders who specialize in specific strategies or trade certain currency pairs might find opportunities even during these periods. Always consider your own trading style, risk tolerance, and the specific market conditions before making any trading decisions.

Conclusion

As evident in forex trading, timing holds utmost importance. Armed with the knowledge of the Forex market’s operating hours and insights into favorable and unfavorable trading times within sessions, you’re better equipped to make informed trading choices.

Keep in mind: by identifying the optimal trading periods, you gain the ability to capitalize on market opportunities while mitigating potential risks. Mastering the art of timing empowers you to navigate the market strategically, maximizing opportunities for profit while minimizing exposure to risks.

Fashionable male celebrities in Kenya

When it comes to fashion, let’s admit it, for the most part, it is mostly women-centered.

Here, however, we’ve created a list of five of the different hot styles we currently have going in Kenya.

Who’s do you love the most?

Eric Omondi

Say what you will but Eric Omondi has been setting the Fashion industry ablaze for the past month or so, with some of his outfits so outrageous that they even go viral!

The comedian said that his new fashion style will be happening a lot more than we think we might as well get used to it, and, well, we might!

Fashion isn’t always so straightforward; sometimes it has squiggly colored lines moving in all directions.

Khaligraph Jones

Khaligrph is that celebrity that when it comes to fashion, if it isn’t designer, then he is not wearing it!

He has perfected the art of the fashion logo so well in fact, that he has been associated with several cases of fraud in fashion just because.

His Bad-guy rich-guy acts look good on him so we are not complaining.

Octopizzo

Octopizzo believes he is the most fashionable celebrity in the country and we’re inclined to believe so as well.

The superstar musician is the ultimate master of ‘UK Boy’ fixed with an air of casualness that only serves to make him the ultimate king.

His rough matter-of-fact personality only does well to serve him as he pairs all his looks to what seems to be his current mood.

He is also arguably the most versatile in the industry and it’s obvious with how seriously he takes his image, he dresses himself.

King Kaka

King Kaka clearly made it a point to perfect the intellectual-artist-in-a-suit trope when he began getting famous in the industry and it paid off!

The Wajinga Nyinyi creator has been making moves in the industry for his sleek and top-notch fitted suits that make him look dashing and well put together.
Alongside his show host girlfriend Nana Owiti who he just celebrated 10 years with!

Willy Paul

Willy Paul has near perfected the ultimate Playboy that never wants to be tied down image that seems to work well on him.

Frequently donning college jackets, beanies for smooth, casual yet chic looks, he is arguably the most fashion-conscious of them all because for this look to be pulled off so seamlessly yet as effortlessly as he does it, he must have a very keen eye for fashion and cool looks!

Otile Brown

Otile Brown has a fashion sense that often combines modern urban styles with an infusion of African and contemporary trends. His fashion choices tend to be versatile, adapting to different occasions, from casual streetwear to more sophisticated and stylish outfits for performances or events.

He’s often seen in trendy streetwear, embracing bold colors, statement pieces, and designer brands. Otile Brown has a penchant for well-fitted outfits that accentuate his physique, including fitted jeans or trousers paired with fashionable shirts or jackets. He’s also known for accessorizing smartly, whether with chains, watches, or sunglasses that complement his attire.

On-stage, his style tends to lean towards fashionable and sleek ensembles, which often include tailored suits or jackets paired with unique accessories. During performances or music videos, he’s seen wearing fashionable, eye-catching outfits that align with the mood or theme of the song.

Otile Brown’s fashion choices resonate with his music persona, projecting confidence and a contemporary edge. He often shares glimpses of his style on social media, showcasing his outfit choices and occasionally collaborating with fashion brands or designers, adding his own flair to the fashion scene in Kenya and beyond.

Tanzanian celebrities who dated Kenyans

Some Tanzanian celebrities opted to cross the borders to find love in Kenya. Even though they succeeded, most of these relationships ended prematurely with only a few ending in marriage.

Many people believe that Tanzanians are much better versed in romance than Kenyans are, so that may be why these relationships sprouted very fast after they landed in the country.

Either way, here are some of the Tanzanian celebrities who have been in a relationship with Kenya’s Super Stars.

Hussein Machozi

The Tanzanian singer was reported to be involved in a series of relationships with Kenyan women at the time he was living in the country.

One of those relationships Machozi was said to be involved, was that with a politician’s wife.

A Tanzanian singer was reportedly found having a sexual affair with one of Kenya’s politician wives.

The relationship is said to have ended after Machozi was caught pants down with the Mombasa-based politician’s wife.

Clearly, Machozi got extremely busy during his stay. But the allegations were never confirmed.

Hamisa Mobetto

Hamisa Mobetto being on this list might be a surprise, but yes, the Tanzanian model once confessed that she once dated a Kenya businessman.

Mobetto did not, however, reveal the name of the mystery man she allegedly dated.

She said, she prematurely broke up with the Kenyan after they failed to agree on certain issues.

She is obviously over that now seeing as she has recently been alleged to be having a relationship with International Music Mogul Rick Ross.

Diamond Platnumz

The Bongo star is another star that has once fallen in love with a Kenyan international.

Diamond dated Tanasha Donna, a Kenyan, for nearly two years before they broke up in early 2020.

Diamond has a son with Tanasha. The two were said to be at loggerheads, with Tanasha deleting him off of Naseeb Junior’s Instagram page but never even once addressing their issue publicly. She is however also said to be dating a new anonymous person.

Ali Kiba

Ali Kiba also fell in love with a Kenyan, Amina Khalef whom he went ahead and married.

Ali Kiba and Khalef have a son together.

Even though their marriage is currently on the rocks, the couple is still married and trying to work on their issues according to reports.

Ben Pol

Singer Ben Pol was also married to Anerlisa Muigai, a Kenyan, for about a year before they separated a few months ago.

Mbosso

Wasafi signee, Mbosso has never shied away from talking about his relationship with his Kenyan ex-girlfriend. In an interview with Wasafi FM, Mbosso said he had been in a relationship with a Kenyan with whom he has a child.

Mbosso said he broke up with the Mombasa-based lady after they failed to agree on certain issues. He further revealed that the lady has since moved on to another relationship.

Amber Lulu

Amber Lulu is another Tanzanian beauty queen who once dated a Kenyan. Amber Lulu dated rapper CMB Prezzo for a year before they broke with Lulu noting that their relationship lacked true love.

Celebrities that quit alcohol

Did you know that getting sober after struggling with alcoholism is in fact the single form of drug rehabilitation that kills the most people?

For these celebrities, it was quite literally a matter of life and death when it came to quitting the liquor -making these feats all that much more phenomenal.

Debilitating fevers and chills, anxiety, depression, tremors, hallucinations, high blood pressure -these are just but some of the deadly effects of withdrawal from consuming alcohol.

It’s no easy thing, having to deal with a life-altering addiction, but dealing with a life-threatening decision to actually change said life? That is a whole other thing altogether. Adding on the pressures of being a celebrity and having to fulfill societal standards and pressures and you, my good sir, might have your work cut out for you.

Here are the celebrities that took the step to change their alcoholic ways for sobriety.

Frasha

Frasha is actually well known for making several attempts at quitting alcohol with his infamed 40-day sobriety challenges that he partakes in every year.
However, as of the last ear, the P-Unit member decided that he was going to finally go cold turkey on the drink because he felt it was about time.

He decided to take a leap of faith in himself in August of last year, saying that the main motivator for his sobriety was his brother who had revealed had his own struggles with alcoholism that Frasha deeply regretted watching, adding that he lost everything due to alcoholism. His sobriety was also in partnership with an initiative called DetoxAfrica that worked hand in hand with his HIV Frasha Foundation under a campaign dubbed Jitambue.

Frasha has been mentioned in some allegations that raised eyebrows over the last month, but it seems like he is doing well for himself.

Njoro The Comedian

Njoro has never made his struggles with alcohol a secret to his fans. He has openly admitted that he struggled with alcohol abuse for so long, that he had to be admitted into rehab twice.

Whilst also battling depression caused by said alcohol, Njoro even revealed that he lost literal millions to alcohol to the tune of KES 4 million when he made the money, revealing he never thought it would end but alas. In heartfelt attempts to explain the reasons why he needed to attend rehab, he told his fans that when he got drunk he became so mean and violent that his wife would hide dangerous items around the house left he found them until she ultimately left him. Scary! Njoro however, has made a huge comeback over the past year, even landing lucrative gigs at KTN and Flamingo Radio. Kudos, Njoro!

Kabi Wajesus

Kabi Wajesus has one of those stories that could make you shudder. Before his fame and fortune, Kabi has been more than open in sharing the story of his journey to the top, one that was riddled with drugs and alcohol… plenty of alcohol.

Before his Bonoko come up, he opened up to his fans, telling them of how he was a matatu conductor that made money only to spend it all on drugs, liquor, marijuana, and other nefarious activities. His new daughter may have been a result of this life as well. He admitted that it took for him to ail from TB to change his ways and try to become a better man, even getting saved in the process.

He is currently one of the biggest names in social media influencing his wife Milly Wajesus, and we are very happy to see that!

Omosh

The former Tahidi High actor has been out of the limelight for a while, that is since he was pranked by popular comedian sleepy David who sent people to pose as buyers of his new home.

Omosh who had vowed to lead a different better life has kept it on the down low for a while and it is unclear what he is currently upto.

The fact that he has not resurfaced to ask for money from Kenyans could be a hint that he is currently leading a sobber life, who knows?

Celeb pairs that troll each other

When it comes to trolling, it has all too often been taken a lot more seriously than it really is. A troll is someone who simply makes fun of you online.

They photoshop your pictures, they say you said things you don’t remember saying, they make memes out of you, they generally make you the butt of the joke…

And you might get a little bit hurt, yes, but never in a deeply impactful manner. Those, are bullies hiding under pseudo names.

Another thing about trolls, Celebrities can be trolls too. Oh, yes. It’s just one of the softer ends of the hardcore trolling that goes on in the entertainment in Kenya’s online sector.

Here, we’ve made a list of the celebrities that troll each other the most, warning, sometimes it turns into an all-out feud!

Akothee and Mca Tricky

Mcatricky has been caught several times trolling Akothee!

This is because he, in fact, dates her daughter Rue and has been doing so for a while now.

Some times Akothee responds, other times she trolls him back, as she is in the habit of trolling as well. He also has an independent friendship with Akothee that borders on simply homeboys and son who dearly respects his mom-in-law to be!

Bien and Khaligraph

Bien and Khaligraph have been openly trolling each other for months now. It all started when the rapper Khaligraph Jones went to have a meeting with the Vice President, attempting to initiate the Fungua Inchi Hashtag.

The Sauti Sol lead singer Bien decided to reply to the news, calling him fake; leading to an all-out war of words.

Since then, the two, though still following each other, occasionally tag each other in their social media posts, dissing each other on various topics like popularity and baldness. Hilarious.

Bahati and Willy Paul

The two were said to be in a feud that erupted when Bahati won an award that Willy Paul believed he was supposed to.

Since then, they have been attacking each other, throwing jabs here and there on social media, even photoshopping each other onto pictures, though nobody quite knew why they were such enemies.

That was until some time earlier this year when they posted a picture posing news to each other, saying that they were actually friends and people should not have believed everything they saw on social media.

Eric Omondi and Shakilla

Eric Omondi and Shakilla were for a while the very definition of internet troll apart from sparking very suspicious dating rumors, pregnancy rumors, wedding rumors, boxer selling rumors…(you get it, the list goes on) they are also in the habit of trolling each other on Social media, with one or both of them just casually dissing the other, keeping it fun and playful.

The hottest single celeb mums

Fashion in Kenya’s pop culture has always been one of its highlighted features. From fast fashion to causal wear to Ankara, Kenya’s fashion scene has always revolved around the lady moving around doing things, but often with the connotation that they’re childless.

But what about the single mums? the ladies juggling public life, work-life, and children?

Here, we curated a lovely list of celebrity single mums who are not only killing in the fashion game, they’re killing it as single mums as well.

Avril

Avril could arguably be in line for one of the celebs who are doing it for the love and the love alone.

The singer, though could be classified as a veteran in the industry, has been diligent in both staying put as a top-charting singer in the country but as a business owner and mother of one.

She is often seen wearing hip but comfortable ensembles (as is expected) looking chic when she needs to, often fully glamming down when she needs to surprise someone.

The singer does not show her child’s face for fear that she would violate his privacy from the limelight, as would a caring and concerned mother in her position would.

Brenda Wairimu

Brenda is the single mum who fell in love with an unlikely match because she was so daring and adventurous, an event that gave her the best gift yet.
She is the epitome of the girl who really grows up and glows up but never looks it.

Her style has often revolved around matching her career but of late she has been embracing her sexy and showing out her more confident side!
Now that her daughter with Juliani is a little grown-up, she is often by mummy’s side, strutting her stuff!

Betty Kyallo

Betty is the one wonder woman who never fails to make her audience wonder while making them glee.

She is smart, business savvy, and an absolute joy to be around, especially when she is with her daughter, not to mention, extremely wealthy.

She recently opened her Betty Closet fashion line has been killing it in the market.

Betty often makes trips and videos with her daughter, often spoiling her, treating her like the princess she is.

Tanasha Donna

Tanasha Donna
Tanasha Donna

Tanasha must have surprised everyone when she got pregnant and not only started working harder, she started looking better too!

She is the definition of the sleek and modern mom (who not only doesn’t look like a mom) but is on-trend, creating trends, breaking boundaries, and bringing her son along too.

She has proven to be an amazing mom who is willing to do anything for the vibe and for her son.

Celebs who are not from the tribes you thought

We have seen actors and actresses play major roles in different adverts and movies. Some of them have been made famous by their accents. Below are a few celebs who are not from the tribes you thought.

KRG the don

Many people wrongly think KRG the don is a Kisii, which is not the case. KRG the don is of mixed race: Indian and Kikuyu.

Eric Omondi

Most people think that Eric Omondi is entirely luo. However, that is not the case. Apart from his luo accent, there has always been a debate that the comedian doesn’t look luo. For all those who thought that he is not entirely luo, you were right!

A few months back, the comedian revealed to Amina Abdi that he is not entirely luo. In the interview, Amina asked about his controversial show, Wife Material and what his mother thought about it. As he was answering, he went on ahead to discuss his mother and his aunts.

He revealed that one of his mother’s sister, his aunt, called him to talk about the show.

David Mwabili (Mwala)

Mwala is among the veteran actors that we have in the country. He started acting way back in the 90s and he made a name out of it. In the past, he starred in Vitimbi that was in KBC channel.

Today, he acts as an inspector in Inspector Mwala that airs on Citizen TV. Since then, the actor has been a role model to many young Kenyans.

One mistake that a lot of Kenyans make is that they tend to think that Mwala hails from the Kamba region. This is because every time he acts, he depicts a Kamba accent. In 2017, Mwala in an interview with Jeff and Jalas revealed that he is actually Taita.

Eunice Wambui (Nyasuguta)

As her name suggests, Eunice Wambui is Kikuyu. But from her role as Nyasuguta, many people think that she is Kisii. She played Nyasuguta in Vitimbi as Mogaka’s wife.

Sande Bush (Dr. Ofweneke)

Sande Bush, AKA, Dr. Ofweneke has been mistaken for being a Nigerian. Dr. Ofweneke is a show host and Mc. In most of his events, he speaks like a Nigerian.

Something that has made many think that he is an oga from one of the West African countries. However, he also did an interview and revealed that he has never stepped his foot in any West African country. He is Luhya and comes from Western Kenya.

Hiram Mungai (Ondiek Nyuka Quarter)

Hiram Mungai AKA, Ondiek Nyuka Quarter is also a veteran when it comes to the entertainment industry. For the longest time ever, many think that Ondiek is from Kisumu County, but that is not the case.

He is actually from Central Kenya. He was always getting in trouble in the popular show Vioja Mahakamani.

Joseph Kinuthia (Omosh)

Joseph Kinuthia AKA, Omosh has been making headlines lately after publicly asking for help from Kenyans. He used to act in Tahidi High on Citizen TV. Because of the name Omosh, many thought that he is luo. As the name Kinuthia suggests, Omosh comes from Central Kenya.

Kazungu Matano

Many know Kazungu Matano as Captain Otoyo Sibuor. Kazungu comes from one of the nine Mijikenda tribes. He is a comedian, MC, and radio host. He has a role in Churchill Show and Papa Shirandula.

Hottest millennial couples in Kenya

We can agree on one thing –the love in the air has been pretty potent of late!

From the numerous engagements, the secret and the not so secret weddings, the babies popping up and down all over social media… everybody’s getting hitched and the millennials are not to be left far behind either. In fact, it’s almost beginning to look like they have much healthier relationships that the older generations can’t seem to grasp!

Here are the cutest and the hottest millennial couples that will probably give you a run for that romance!

Robert Mbaya and Georgina Njenga

Robert Mbaya or Tyler as he refers to himself as and Georgina is that couple that will give you the couple goals if that’s what you are looking for!

The two, who have been together for over a year and are in fact already well on their way to celebrity couple status –Kabi and Milly style and we can’t get enough of it. Tyler hasn’t just proven how mature he has now grown through this relationship, he’s shows that he has a big heart and can be extremely romantic! When Tyler is not praising his beautiful woman, however, he’s hustling through gigs here and there and at such young ages, they have even moved in together and are making a cool mint as an Instagram couple.

He has said numerous times that he intends on marrying her and Georgina is of the same mind. How wonderful! Oh, remember Kagwe Mungai’s banger ‘Panties’? They gave some of that action there too!

The Dufandas

The Dufanda pair is literally the epitome of fashion couple goals because of how incredibly dedicated they are to their sense of style.

The couple, who are parents to an adorable pair of twins, are well known for their flair in matching all of the outfits they put on, even if it’s just another day in the town.

Not just that, though, they are literally the most unproblematic celebrity couple on social media with zero issues in the book! Wow!

The Watts Family

They have been together for over 5 years now, and they are looking just as in love as they were then!

Joseph Watts and Leila Watts have grown exponentially on Instagram as a couple, moving from being high school sweethearts to now literally expecting their second child, but still being as wholesome and entertaining (not to mention handsome) as ever.

Nonetheless, they keep serving us beautiful family pics and we do not mind in the least!

Nadia and Arrowbwoy

They first began as an unlikely couple but quickly turned the tide when they announced that they were going to be together, for real.

Now, even though they still get accusations of dating simply for clout because of their banger —-, the two are still very determined to make sure the internet knows their love is real. They have been rocking it out with an American tour with their last one being in Minnesota a week ago, and you better believe took a little baycay of their own too!

Clout or not, love is clearly better with money.

Maybe the millennials have some things to teach us after all…

The most stylish celebrity couples in Kenya

Let’s face it. Fashion is more than just a statement in Kenya -it’s a lifestyle. And no one takes it more seriously than our celebrities. And for sure, we love to see our celebs clad in the latest wear, ready to set the standards on these social media streets.

But when fashion meets love, it’s a whole
different ball game.

Here are the most fashionable celebrity couples that we can’t get enough of!

The Wajesus Family

They have faced their equal share of controversy, but one thing you must admit is that their look hit the nail on the head every time it needs to!

They do not have daily stylists either. Their look has always been a mash of traditional mom and dad and the modern slay queen and king. Powerful.

The Wajesus however, always get their makeup done and when the entire family is together, they make sure to dress to kill. And who would blame them either? With a wife as beautiful as Milly and a husband as handsome as Kabi, not to mention their adorable son Taji –the Wajesus are bound to stun the audience in every single look they give.

The Dufandas.

When it comes to matching outfits –the Dufandas, Gee Dufanda and his wife Sara Kamy knock it out of the park every single time. It’s literally why they became famous in the first place. Glam is all they exude.

Not only are they one of the most handsome couples in celeb culture, but the Dufandas also seem to be a match made in heaven that just can’t stop giving us goals from all angles.

They make it a point to match every outfit they step out with, and always add a little razzle-dazzle with it. And have you seen their beautiful twins? You best believe they match as well and when they leave the house, it becomes a family affair!

They also get an extra point for being the most wholesome couple in Kenya’s celeb culture. Kenya’s Bey and Jay, if you will.

Notiflow and Armaan

While they have gotten into it a few times on social media, even making it to the trending list, Notiflow and her girlfriend Armaan are sure to bring it when they need to.

Their look brings that hot combo we need when it comes to swag and street fashion.

Notiflow brings on the glam sometimes but whenever she takes pics with Armaan, that gangster vibe will always come to the table!

Armaan recently said that she will marry Notiflow and we just wonder how that wedding is going to look like.

Bahati and Diana.

One thing about this couple, is that they will live their slay queen and slay king vibes to the front of the line when it needs to be done, you hear?

Bahati has been on the hot seat a few times now for his outlandish fashion looks but every time he is with Diana, it somehow always looks cohesive and impressive.

Their system seems to be –Bahati tones it up, and Diana balances it out with her effortless shine. Nonetheless, they both always look amazing, and even better as a pair.

Do an exercise. The next time you step out with your partner, take some inspo from one of these pairs and do it with style!

Kenyan celebs who have made it internationally

Celebrities who have made their HIV status public

HIV/AIDS is one of the world’s most feared diseases. Being infected with HIV may seem like a death sentence to some, and this, for the most part, makes them choose to keep it to themselves.

Here is a list of Kenyan celebrities who have made their HIV status public.

Avril Ex-Lover Muga and Avril

Times Betty Kyalo let fans taste her juice

It was her Friday night show on KTN that announced her entry to the entertainment and media scene.

Betty would later go on to attract audiences with her eloquence and understanding of the language and matters of national interest.

When she left the TV channel, many thought it was over for her, but this wasn’t the case, she immediately landed a role at K24 TV where she drew viewership with her show “Upclose With Betty”, however, left after a while.

These two big achievements are however not what many Kenyans on Twitter would be interested in, mostly because they lack the juice of controversy.

Here are some of the juiciest of Betty’s highlights in the recent past.

Her Appearance On H_Art The Band’s ‘My Jaber’

The term “media personality” has often been used to describe people who are known to be attached mainly to TV or radio, these could be show hosts, news anchors, brand ambassadors who use their media platforms to promote products, and on rare occasions Socialites.

Betty is indeed all of these combined, or maybe, in a way. Towards the end of 2021, she shocked Kenyans across all divides when she made her appearance in H_Art the band’s hit song, My Jaber.

The song which made rounds across the digital space and attracted many who were drawn by its soulful lyrics featured the former news anchor among other famous Kenyans in its video.

Indeed Betty’s Presence in the song left many talking about her ability to fit into anything and make it look perfect.

Start Of Her New Relationship With Nick Ndeda

The internet was set ablaze when rumors erupted that the former KTN and K24 news anchor and show host had a thing going with Radio’s deep-voiced Nick Ndeda.

This came after a photo of the two looking cozy surfaced and Kenyans were quick to point out that the two were in a relationship.

Many took to social media to wish the two the best of luck and hoping that finally, Betty would have a man to keep seeing to it that her previous relationships have all in some way gone up in smoke.

When She Appeared On The Top 10 List With The President

Betty could not hide her joy when she appeared on the same list as the president, Uhuru Kenyatta, his Deputy, William Ruto, and the leader of the opposition Raila Odinga in ranking.

According to a top 10 list released by Google, Betty was 7th overall in searches made within the country within the past 15 years.

In her captain, the media personality expressed how humbled she was to be listed among great people in the country and her gratitude to her fans.

She went on to explain that she has gone through much since she was a young professional in the media space.

The entrepreneur stated that it was like living her young and adult life at the same time, mostly because she was in the public eye ready for scrutiny.

When She Accidentally Exposed Her Nipple

In early January, a jovial Betty took to social media while on vacation in Malindi and asked her fans to photoshop her in nice clothes.

On her arrival, Betty promised that she was going to share nice Bikini photos with fans urging them to wait and see her in those classic outdoor outfits.

True to her word, Betty gave Kenyans a few photos of her in a Bikini and she truly looked nice in them.

The only problem with doing this kind of thing is the presence of fans who concentrate on detail.

In one of the photos, Betty was in a red nice-looking Bikini when she accidentally showed a little bit too much as part of her nipple showed.

This picture elicited mixed reactions, but she didn’t seem to mind.

Her Alleged Break Up With Nick Ndeda

After a fan asked her on social media to look for someone to date, Betty made headlines with her reply in which she seemed to insinuate that she thinks it would be best to concentrate on looking for money.

This seemed weird as it was already out there and everyone knew that she was dating Nick Ndeda.

What she said was, for the most part, taken as her veiled confession that things were not going so well between them.

Celebs who were criticized for ‘indecent’ dressing

Hollywood celebrities normally push boundaries during awards. They can wear, literally anything! Lady Gaga once stepped onto the red carpet wearing meat. They wear thigh-high slits, funny hairstyles, and shoes, not forgetting the dramatic makeup.

However, back home, here in Kenya, netizens don’t recognize thigh-high slits and claim that it is against the African culture. If celebrities step out with anything, sheer clothing, and thigh-high slits, they will be the talk of the town for weeks.

Here are a few ladies who have been trolled for dressing ‘indecently.’

Kirigo Ngarua

Former news anchor Kirigo Ngarua was once trolled for dressing indecently. At one time, while celebrating her friend Terryanne Chebet’s birthday, she had worn a black tassel dress that was a part of the theme of the birthday that took place that weekend.

On her post, fans told her to stop showing her legs, and she responded by saying that the comments were not getting to her. She said she has beautiful legs and she will flaunt them whenever she can.

“Some human commented somewhere that I should “dress decently”… Not sure what that means and to be honest I can’t be bothered…Also, I have beautiful legs so I have to show them off once in a while, add this lovely dress from @siristudio and life is complete at this moment,”

Akothee

Akothee is a vocal artist. She speaks her mind and no one is going to stop her. Akothee had an event in Watamu in 2018 and wore an animal print to the show. Many thought she looked good, while others thought she looked ratchet and her dressing was indecent, so she was setting a bad example as a role model.

She is later responding in a video, saying she is no one’s role model.

, “I am dumping that name role model, my a**! Let every parent be a role model to their own children,”

Esther Passaris

In a photo, Nairobi Women Rep Esther Passaris’ photo surfaced online where she was wearing a maxi dress with a thigh-high slit at an event. The lower part of the dress was so sheer that you could see her skin.

From the online reactions, the Nairobi legislator stated that it was a dress from her husband and she had no apologies to make to anyone for wearing it.

Kenyan on Twitter, KOT, asked her to offer a sense of integrity to her people to which the women rep replied:
My husband bought me that dress and I have no apologies when I wear it. #MyDressMyChoice https://t.co/rwgY9cuuXq

Tanasha Donna

While dating Diamond Platnumz, Tanzanians bashed Tanasha for her dressing, claiming that she was showing too much.

But if the words of trolls online could do anything to Tanasha’s confidence, then she’d be long gone by now.

The radio presenter did not really care much about what was said about her but instead continued doing what she does best, killing it on the red carpet.

However, it would be important to note that despite her overwhelming confidence, Tanasha has on some occasions missed the mark when it comes to dressing.

Betty Kyallo

Betty unintentionally revealed her nipple when she posted a photo of her in a swimming costume. Apart from the fan noticing the slight mishap, Betty generally received positive comments on her pics as many people were impressed at the celebs courage to be able to share such pics with the public. The star has been battling with weight gain issues and she seems to be at a comfortable place with her fitness journey as she was living unapologetically.

But hey, who are we to judge?

International celebrities that are Kenyan

Have you ever heard of the saying ‘Najivumilia kuwa Mkenya’?

The very idea that in order to prosper, (especially when it comes to talent and entertainment) you need to be out of the country? Where does that come from?

Granted, we do have an entertainment industry that struggles to keep the arts alive in our country, but when it comes to Kuomoka, you just might need out of here.

And in that vein, here are some of the international celebrities that said ‘Adios’ to Kenyan entertainment and went to prosper in the west!

Elsa Majimbo

Elsa Majimbo

While not the first, Elsa single-handedly put Kenya on the International map when it comes to fashion and Vogue just by… being herself!

She got her first 15 minutes of fame when her sarcastic comedy flicks began making the rounds, garnering more and more attention from celebrities that found her sense of humour appealing.

Since then, Elsa has flown herself out, flown her entire family out, been on countless magazine editions including Vogue, worked with a sizeable number of luxury fashion designers including Valentino, and has been to the Met Gala. What the?

She, however, was shamed in our country, and many people did not like her humour, which is not that good for us…but great for her!

Patricia Allison

Some people don’t know this but Ola from S*x Education is Kenyan!

At the time, most people only recognized Lupita for her Oscar but come on, you gotta give it to her, she’s been on Les Miserables –and she kills it with the character on SE!

Her Kenyan roots began to show when she uploaded a picture of her grandma, oh, and the Kenyan flag on her Instagram Bio is a good indicator too, no?

Kimberly Leonard

Kimberly is one of the most revered News Anchors in London’s Sky News, but most don’t know she’s from here.

Not only is she Kenyan born, Kim fully knows Kiswahili and Kikuyu. Even her mom reads the clock in Kikuyu!

However, once people found out, she immediately went viral.

Sami Jacuzzi

Seasoned actor Sammy Nagi Njuguna has been making waves in the US, horror scene with his role on Amazon Prime’s ‘Black As Night’ starring as Tunde which premiered about a week ago and has been doing rather well on the charts too!

Another fun fact, he is the older brother to Barrack Jacuzzi, a Kenyan rapper and famous ‘Rich kid’.

The first time as the main character, Sammy is also known for stellar roles in films like ‘The 5th Quarter’, ‘For My Man’, ‘NCIS: New Orleans’ among several others!

See? We got that juice –it’s a matter of getting out there and sharing Kenyan talent!

Edi Gathegi

The “Start Up” and “Blacklist” superstar is also of Kenyan origin.

Because of his mastery of the English language many might actually think he is an American native but this is not the case.

Gathegi was born in Kenya before he moved to the United states where he studied and ignited his passion for acting.

He has made appearances in several top-grossing tv shows and movies.

Lupita Nyong’o

Lupita Nyong’o achieved global fame and critical acclaim for her role as Patsey in the historical drama film “12 Years a Slave” (2013). Her performance in the film earned her numerous accolades, including the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, making her the sixth black actress to win an Oscar in that category. Lupita is also a Kenyan, daughter Anyang Nyong’o.
